Practicing Naturopathy is Illegal!

In Tennessee and in South Carolina, the practice of naturopathy is illegal. Tennessee law, for example, provides that the practice of naturopathy is a Class B misdemeanor.

I know many of you like myself are from Tennessee and should be outraged by this.Shouldn't we have a choice? Naturopathic Doctors are not recognized by this state.They will shut them down and arrest them.This is crazy.We must work to change this.I suggest you contact your elected officials concerning this matter.I will post more information soon.

I want to hear everyone's opinion on this matter.What should we do?

It is just one more way the government wants to dictate the way we care for ourselves. Follow the $$ trail, and you will find out why all of this happens. We are told that there is no reliable research backing up many therapies that have been in existence for thousands of years with testimonial results, but they choose to ignore the same problem when it is used in modern/western style medicine. There are therapies being used now in modern medicine that have no reliable scientific research but we still use them daily. Every day people are told to take a Rx, but often the research on that is flawed, or is totally unreliable-leading to further sickness and even death in some circumstances.

Who would know your body better than you? We must take responsibility for our own health care, and stop following blindly behind big pharma, the FDA and others who propose to have all of the answers while ignoring results.

The general public should also be informed. Many citizens of these states are probably unaware of this. Word of mouth can travel a long way.

I agree. There is a need for these Drs. and it is up to the patients to decide whom they will see, not the government. We should have access to all forms of health practicioners.

Weylon I am surprised to learn of this. My sweet little niece is studying to become a health type dr. Can we call it by any name? And is it still illegal? Herbalist, homopathic dr? What other names do they practice under??
This is crazy. Sounds like a long hard fight to me.

I have always been appalled at this situation. You are absolutely right; we should have the choice. I will contact the Tennessee board of health and find out what steps need to be taken to lobby for a change in Tennessee laws.

Hi All!

When I had my shop open to the public I was not allowed to sell books on herbal remedies if I sold the herbs. Nor was I allowed to give out "recipes" or I would be arrested. I did sell the herbs, and told people to go to a local bookstore to pick up their books on how to use the herbs they bought from me. The law/gov will not allow you to sell books on Homeopathy and herbs from the same store. If you really want to get mad read the book on Renee' Cassie. She is the Canadian nurse who developed a cure for cancer using paitents the gov. sent her that had about 2 weeks to live. She only lost 1 paitent and that was due to chemo damage to the heart. I have seen "Eissac" (her name spelled backward) on the store shelf at Vitimin World, this is the "cure" she spent her life developing for cancer paitents. She sold her "formula" to the government for $1 to help fight cancer. Upon her death the Canadian Gov. spent several days going through her files and burning everything. Reason: Cancer is the biggest money making diease in the world for doctors and drug manufacturers. Check out www.herbalhealer.com for more info on Renee and other homeopathic formulas. This woman has been fighting the Arkansas gov. for many years now. You may want to get her insight as to what it takes to fight the Gov. over this. One thing for sure is, it's gonna take a LOT of money. The only reason her formula survies today is because a frind of hers which was an M.D. got cancer and she helped him cure himself. He saved all the files from his own therapy along with the formula. Check it out. Interesting stuff. For now though, we will all be hiding out doing outr "thing" until legislation changes.

I really appreciate your input.People sometimes just do not realize how much of this actually goes on.Many people are in denial even when they learn the truth while others are too selfish to care about anyone but themselves.I believe that we have an obligation to share the information that God has given us.Maybe,just maybe our law makers will start thinking of us.I really hope that you can attend our upcoming meeting.It seems you have a lot of information to share and we would be honored if you could come.

I'm sure this legislation came about by lobbying from the big pharmaceutical companies. They do not want us to take responsibility for our own health. And they certainly don't have our best interests in mind. Please, please contact your legislators regarding this issue.
